We have prepared a delicious canned food for you with Gum Artichoke and Karaburun lemon, which are geographically marked products of the Urla region. Before meeting with brine, we used only lemon juice to prevent the artichokes from darkening. We also prepared our brine with only lemon juice and salt. Thus, we obtained a completely natural and additive-free product.
The reason why we don't use lemon salt in our products:
The chemical citric acid, commonly known as citric acid, is a colorless and crystalline organic compound. It is one of the main organic acids found naturally in most fruits and vegetables. This acid, which gives its sour taste to fruits and vegetables, is called citric acid, especially because it is found in citrus fruits (citrus). It is one of the most widely used additives in the food industry.
Citric acid was obtained naturally from citrus juices, especially lemons, until the 20th century. However, since it is an expensive method to obtain these fruits, it was produced synthetically from sugar beet molasses in the following years. Citric acid is obtained from the sugar in molasses as a result of fermentation with the help of microorganisms such as yeasts and bacteria.
Lemon salt is a misnomer, it is actually an acid, not a salt. Lemon salt is known to many as a natural substance derived from lemons. However, the chemical citric acid, called lemon salt, is a chemical obtained from sugar, not lemon. Citric Acid is an additive with E code (E330) and is widely used as a sweetener and preservative in the food industry. It is used as a preservative and shelf life extender in prepared foods.
